Latest revision as of 14:47, 5 September 2017

Word up front

Combat strategics, if necessary, will be added in the future

These zones is considered Tier 6 qua toughness.
Currently, there is no Tier 6 Armor quest, this will come in the near future though.
This zone, along with the other planes zones, require significant amounts of gearing.
Preferably on all of your characters, but especially the tank.
For the tank, 110K AC and 800K+ HP is no luxury in these cases.
Tips :

Or, if you already have it, the Electric Dog Mk.III, same range, same slow rate, better debuff.

  • Take it slow. Rushing through the zone will just lead to frustration and tons of deaths.
  • Don't hesitate to blow every DPS cooldown you have on each miniboss, They will be back up in time for the next one you go after.
  • Additionally, using Third Spire on your Tank is a huge help, as well as Second spire on your other characters for the extra damage or healing.

This zone is best considered to be just after Growth qua difficulty.
This does not count for the Boss (for either zone), but overall for the trash and the mini's Some of the mini's, especially the base defenders, have quite the fast and hard hitting range,
making them feel tougher and harder, but they don't have too much HP All of these mobs also, have a higher drop rate in Radiant Crystals

The Task

Your journal tells you to do the following :

  • Kill 1 residents of Mischief
  • Kill 300 more residents of Growth
  • Kill Bristlebane the King of Thieves
  • Kill Baal

Baal and Bristlebane both have instructions on how to handle them.
These, as well as route instructions, can be found on the bottom of the page.

Mini bosses

These are the mini's you'll encounter in this zone.
They are NOT required to be killed for the mission, but DO count as kills.
The order these are listed, or NOT the order you encounter them in,
as these are spread left and right throughout the zone.

  • GET THE HELL OUT OF MY ROOM
  • Blue King
  • Base Defender Zelena
  • Base Defender Farken
  • Mr. Black
  • Mr. White
  • Red King

Here's what they look like :

These defenders you will encounter in the base entrance of the castle
These defenders you will encounter in the base entrance of the castle

Like Mr. Black, this guy can be found on the far right side of the map
Like Mr. White, this guy can be found on the far right side of the map

Big Boss Baal

Since the pathing to this guy is tedious and horrible, a written, picture, & video walkthrough is added below here.

Baal is a belly caster. This means that you can NOT hit him from a distance with spells, you have to be in short range.
This means that rangers for example, cannot use their DD or AE DD spells to hit him from the range that they are at to shoot him.

Baal.jpg

Painting.jpg

In this and BristleBane's walkthrough, there is a lot of reference regarding a painting.
IE. Go through the painting.
What is meant by this, are the grey and black "paintings", they look like a window frame with a square in the middle with a jester hat in it.

How to get to Baal
The pictures should be pretty clear by itself, but nevertheless there is a written part with each bit to explain.

You start ofcourse outside, on the floating landing pad.
Make your way to the invisible bridge, and cross it upwards.
There's also an invisible bridge on the left side, so it doesn't matter which side you choose.
Once up on the wall, go to the center, and inside the castle.
Be careful of the Defenders if you have not yet killed them.

Route to Baal 1.jpg

When inside, after the defenders go left through the painting.
Continu upstairs, go through the door, continu downstairs, and take a left into the main splitting room, where you will also encounter GET THE HELL OUT OF MY ROOM!!.

Route to Baal 2.jpg

Go through the back left stone painting. At the intersection, take a right (there is mob just around the corner).

1 - Get the hell out of my room.jpg

AFTER you went through the painting with the mini in the room, go through the first left painting (you are facing south when standing in front of this),
and through a second one, untill you come into a room with 4 Bookcases, and a picture of Bristlebane.

Click the picture, and in the next room you land in, turn around and click the Jester sconce on the South East wall.

In the following room you land in, face to the North-West side, where you'll see a poorly-shaped potted fern on the table, click the vase.

Route to Baal 3.jpg

Clicking the vase will put you in the garden area, where eventually you'll get to Baal.
Be warned for the flowermob really close the the landing area, that will agro you upon coming in,
so either send your tank first, or a capable mage with pet, or a chanter to mez.

Take either a left or a right, it doesn't matter, just follow the hedge maze untill you reach the center, where Baal is.
the ways through are all hidden, so you'll have to use your map to find them.

Route to Baal 4.jpg

Here is also the link to the promised video walkthrough on how to get to Baal.

Big Boss BristleBane

Since the pathing to this guy, is even more tedious and horrible then the route to Baal, a written, picture, & video walkthrough also has been added below here.

This guy transforms into a robot somewhere between 50% and 30% health.
It looks exactly the same then as Meldrath from the medium mission, but bigger.
If that happends, he will also call in (a lot of) adds.
So it is strongly advised to bring a heavy DPS army with you.

Bristlebane the King of Thieves.jpg

The first few steps to get to BristleBane are the same as getting to Baal

From this point on, the route changes.
For Baal, you took a left in the first hallway, and to get to BristleBane, you are going to continu straight ahead, as shown in the below picture.

Route to BristleBane 3.jpg

Go through the door at the end of the hallway (facing West), and in that next half round room, go through another door on the right (facing North).

At the first opening (a few steps further after the door), there is another painting to go through (standing before it you are facing East).

RTBB1.jpg

Go through the painting, and follow the corridor (it's small) and through the door at the end, and straight through the second door right after that.
In that small room, face right (North) and go through the painting.
Straight ahead, just as small a gap as between the previous two doors, there's another painting to go through.
Once through this second painting, you'll find yourself in the Theathre area.

RTBB2.jpg

In this area, go up the first set of stairs on the left you come across (facing North), and through the golden curtain upstairs (there are two mobs behind the curtain).

RTBB3.jpg

RTBB4.jpg

Once through the curtain, take the right hallway (NorthEast), and go through the first door on the right (East).
There is a mob inside just behind this door.

Route to BristleBane 4.jpg

RTBB5.jpg

RTBB6.jpg

Click the bookcase on the right side, which will slide away, and go through the wall.
There is another mob just around the corner.
Follow this corridor, through the wall at the end, there is another mob at the other side of this wall.
Go up the stairs beyond that wall, and follow this corridor, (you'll come across 5 more mobs along the way), untill you get to the balcony area.
There are 2 more mobs in here.

Route to BristleBane 5.jpg

Click the bookcase in this area again, which will also slide away, and go through.
Follow this entire corridor again, (3 more mobs in here), untill you get to the other balcony area.
(you can see this balcony from the first balcony area, across the hall, but you cannot levitate to it.
you HAVE to go through the corridor).
Go through the door, continu through this corridor, and through the door at the end of this hallway.
The room you end up with is the room with a picture of BristleBane, a tiny bed, and a tiny chessboard on the table on the right.

Route to BristleBane 6.jpg

Make your way to the other side to find the opening to the actual chessboard.

RTBB9.jpg

There you'll see 4 to 5 chess hands mobs and the red and Blue King.
Be aware that the chessboard itself counts as a PVP area.

RTBB10.jpg

Click the chair behind the Blue king, and you'll land in the upside down wing.

Route to BristleBane 7.jpg

This can be a severely confusing area.
There are 2 mobs in here, one of them is right at the spot you land (like in the Hedge maze), so be warned.
Go to the other side, and through the double wall.

RTBB11.jpg

When through the double wall, there's a mob fairly close on the right side.
Go to the left (East), 2 more mobs there, and in that small circular room, go through the upside down painting.

RTBB12.jpg

RTBB13.jpg

Through the painting, go left, and down the ramp. Around the corner and through the wall.
There are 2 more mobs in here, and one of them is on the left hand side just through the wall.

In this room, go through the sideway pool on the right.you'll have to levitate up to get there.
On the other side, there's 1 mob, and an already opened up door, a bit up (north), you need to go through this.

RTBB14.jpg

RTBB15.jpg

Going in the already opened door, there is another mob in there, and 1 in the opening (window) to your left a few feet ahead (which will agro!).
Past this window, go left, there's another mob at the end of the corridor (North).
Just before this mob, there's a wall you can go through on the left side (South).
Go through this, and immediately through the upside down painting.
In this room, there is another mob, and a picture frame almost hidden in the ceiling (which is actually the floor).

RTBB16.jpg

Click the pictureframe to go to the Hall of Doors.

Route to BristleBane 9.jpg

You'll land in this room facing North.
Turn left (West), and click the door that has 2 jester sconces on the left upper side of it.
(These sconces are in the western corner of this room, the door is on the right of that corner).

RTBB17.jpg

Clicking this door will put you in the entry hallway to Bristlebane.

RTBB18.jpg

Click the door in front of you to open it, and you'll see Bristlebane in front of you.

RTBB19.jpg

See, it wasn't that hard to get here now was it?
Good luck on killing him!
